In December 114, a total of 1,524 fraud cases were reported, with financial losses amounting to NT$859.054 million. The top 3 most prevalent fraud methods, in terms of reported cases and financial losses, were:
(1) Online shopping scams: 461 cases, with financial losses of NT$37.157 million.
(2) Fake investment scams: 180 cases, with financial losses of NT$444.218 million.
(3) Fake dating (investment scams) scams: 119 cases, with financial losses of NT$131.748 million.
Recently, it has been observed that scam groups frequently use methods such as "online shopping scams" and "third-party scams" to induce the public to remit or transfer funds, leading to their accounts becoming flagged. Please be vigilant.
